Coffee By The Books • Pasadena, CA

Posted by admin on January 8, 2008 in Cappuccino Review

With buttery richness, the espresso almost perfectly compliments the hazelnut syrup I requested with this cappuccino. Looking at the picture, you could see immediately that Coffee by the Books cares about presenting this European specialty with confident flair. when in Pasadena, take the time to stop off and support this espresso connoisseur.

Pacific Whey • Costa Mesa, CA

Posted by admin on December 31, 2007 in Cappuccino Review

I don’t have anything nice to say about this cappuccino. The most mild comment I could make is that it only cost me $3.75 and that I would not choose to drink this same cup were it given to me. The espresso was drawn long and added to to watery milk with inadequate proportion and [...]

My Coffee Sidekick

My daughter has been treated to cappuccinos since before she was born. Should I even wonder why she reaches for my mug and easily swallows the final sips?

Lux • Phoenix, AZ

I usually steer clear of mochas since they tend to come out heavy on sickeningly sweet chocolate, but Lux offers a delectable Cafe Mocha with promise of continual return. When in Phoenix …

Her classic Mocha (see next post) and my cappuccino made a great pairing for a girl’s day out on our way to the salon. This is [...]

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf • Lake Forest

Posted by admin on November 29, 2007 in Cappuccino Review

For some reason, it is unusually uncommon to find a true espresso specialist in a chain-store coffee shop. It can be compared to finding a great hair [...]

Con Panna • Chapman Coffee House

Posted by admin on November 27, 2007 in Cappuccino Review

I don’t know if it was the barista on duty, or just the need for caffeine on a cool California night, but this Con Panna hit the spot! If you love good espresso with a creamy sweet cap, try this two dollar drink. Served in classy matching cup and saucer, perfectly pulled single shot of [...]

Panera at The District Tustin, CA

Posted by admin on November 26, 2007 in Cappuccino Review

Panera’s cappuccino is described as espresso and steamed milk “capped” with foam. Not a traditional approach, but it seems to work for this food chain. The foam seems to be well frothed, but little attention was paid in making this typically artful drink. Some automatically pulled shots tossed in the bottom of a ceramic mug [...]
